Springfield Lake Re-Opened to Swimmers

(Monday, August 26/2002)-- The HRM supervised portion of Springfield Lake has been re-opened to the public.

Testing by Nova Scotia Department of the Environment has determined the water quality of the lake is now acceptable for swimming.

However, Kearney Lake remains closed to swimmers, pending the outcome of test results by DOE. Those results are expected to be available by mid-week.

HRM thanks the public for its cooperation and apologizes for any inconvenience.
