Sheet Harbour Heroes to be Honoured

Please note that correct time for the luncheon to honor the Spears family, of Sheet Harbour, is 1:30 p.m., at the New Horizon's Seniors Centre, Sheet Harbour --- NOT 6 p.m., as previously indicated.

(Friday, January 31/2003)-- Three members of the Spears family, of Sheet Harbour, will be awarded special commendations on behalf of Halifax Regional Council next week for their part in saving the life of a man who became trapped under his all-terrain vehicle.

Mayor Peter Kelly and Councillor Steve Streatch, District 1 (Eastern Shore-Musquodoboit) will make the presentations at a special luncheon in Sheet Harbour on Monday, February 3rd.

David, Matthew and Janet Spears are credited with rescuing Charles Riley, who became trapped under his all-terrain vehicle in freezing weather conditions earlier this year.

The luncheon, sponsored by the Halifax Regional Municipality will be held:
