2nd Annual Velvet Touch Award
(Tuesday, May 13/2003)-- The second annual "Velvet Touch Award" will highlight activities this year for Halifax Regional Municipality's celebration of National Public Works Week.
National Works Week organizers are looking for media personalities with a gentle touch.
All that your media outlet representative has to do is to lift a bucket of water from one 45-gallon drum to another-using a backhoe. Pretty easy, eh?
HRM's organizing committee invites you to send along the name of your media personality to represent your organization in the competition on Thursday, May 22nd, from noon until 1 p.m. in Grand Parade, City Hall.
Mayor Peter Kelly out manoeuvred Chief Administrative Officer George McLellan last year, while Peter Garnham, of Eastlink News, and Lisa Blackburn, of Q-104 were the winners in the media category.
