HRM Residents Warned About Civic Number Offer

( Thursday, June 19/2003)-- Halifax Regional Municipality advises that it is in no way associated with leaflets being delivered to homes and businesses throughout the region, asking residents to purchase new civic address numbers at a cost of $20.

HRM advises that the wording and format of the leaflets could leave the impression with some that this purchase offer is an initiative of the municipality. That is incorrect. It appears the leaflets are being distributed by an individual or a private company.

Residents who have any concerns about their civic address numbering, or who want to ensure their number is registered in the event they may require 9-1-1 Emergency Service, are urged to call HRM's Civic Address Office at 490-5347
