Grain Elevator Physical Fire Investigation Complete
(Wednesday, August 27, 2003 )- Investigators have completed their preliminary site investigation of the recent fire and explosion at the Halifax grain elevator.
At this time, the cause of the fire is undetermined. Materials taken from the scene are being examined by engineers to determine possible ignition sources that may have caused the fire and explosion.
Following completion of the preliminary fire site investigation, other aspects of the full incident investigation will be continuing through Labour Canada, Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency Service, Halifax Grain Elevator and Halifax Port Authority.
