Motorists requested to refrain from driving in the South End

(Saturday, October 4, 2004 1:30 pm) Motorists are being urged to stay away from the streets in the South End of peninsular Halifax today, if possible, particularly off the streets south of Inglis Street. Work crews are in the area today and will be again tomorrow, cleaning up the large number of fallen trees to assist the NSPI crews in restoring power.

HRM residents support and patience is much appreciated as crews work round the clock to repair the unprecedented damage to our region caused by Hurricane Juan.

For further information please call the HRM Call Center at 490-4000, daily between 6am and 12 midnight .
