Residents Invited to Learn More About Fire, Explosion at Halifax Grain Elevator

(Tuesday, October 21/2003)-- A public information session regarding the explosion and fire at the Halifax Grain elevator in late summer will be held later this week.

The Halifax Port Authority intends to set-up a number of tables in the general meeting area to enable members of the pubic to move from table-to-table to ask their questions about the fire and explosion and actions that have been taken since that time.

Among those officials scheduled to attend are Elke Juckes, of the Halifax Grain Elevator Limited; George Malec, VP, Operations & Security, and Michele Peveril, Manager, Corporate Communications and Public Affairs, Halifax Port Authority; and John Blandin, Media Relations Officer with the Halifax Regional and Fire Emergency Service.
