Stump Removal Operations This Weekend

(Friday, October 24/2003)-- HRM Public Works crews will be removing the remaining stumps of municipally-owned trees felled or damaged by Hurricane Juan on the streets of peninsular Halifax this weekend.

Commencing Sunday, October 26, at 9 p.m. and continuing throughout the night, crews will be working at various sites located throughout the peninsular area. They will be assisted in traffic control by members of the Halifax Regional Police.

As a result, motorists are advised NOT TO PARK at curbside in front of a stump (located between the curb and sidewalk) that may have to be removed sometime during Sunday evening or overnight. This will greatly assist the work crews.
