Ceremony to Mark Start of Harbour Solutions Project
(Friday, November 7/2003)-- The official ground-breaking ceremony marking the start of construction on the Sewage Collection System (SCS) phase of the Harbour Solutions Project will be held next week.
Mayor Peter Kelly, and representatives of the Federal and Provincial governments, as well as prime contractor Dexter Construction, will be among the special guests at the ceremony.
When: Wednesday, November 12, 2003
Time: 1:30 pm
Location: At Upper Water and Barrington Street site ( fenced area under the outbound traffic ramp of the Cogswell Street Interchange.)
Note to Editors: Because there is no on-street parking near the site for the ceremony and because it is located alongside the high-traffic volume entrance to the downtown area (Barrington to Hollis Streets), HRM has arranged for a Metro Transit bus to transport invited guests and members of the media to and from the site. The following is the schedule:
1:00 pm Guests/media gather at Halifax Hall, City Hall
1:15 pm Guests/media board bus to be transported to site of ceremony
1:30 pm Bus arrives at site
The Metro Transit bus will return guests/media back to City Hall following the ceremony.
