Tree-Planting Ceremony to Mark Earth Day
(Wednesday, April 21/2004)-- Mayor Peter Kelly will be among the special guests at a tree-planting ceremony in south end Halifax tomorrow to mark this year's celebration of Earth Day.
Councillor Dawn Sloane, Halifax-Citadel MLA Danny Graham and students from the Halifax Grammar School will also take part in the ceremony.
An ash tree provided by HRM will be planted in Cornwallis Park as a replacement for a another ash at that same location that was damaged and had to be taken down three years ago.
