Mayor Peter Kelly Presents First Annual Urban Design Awards
(Monday, April 26, 2004)-- Mayor Peter Kelly will present the first annual Urban Design Awards in a ceremony tonight, starting at 5:00 PM, at the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia.
The Urban Design Awards acknowledge and promote the contribution that property and business owners, architects, landscape architects, artists and designers make toward the continued vitalization of the urban core.
The 24 submissions received covered categories in buildings, amenities and open space. Among the awards being presented tonight is the "People's Choice Award" for which organizers received more than 100 ballots from members of the public.
