Municipal Equipment Display at Mic Mac Mall
(Monday, May 10, 2004)-- Millions of dollars worth of municipal service equipment will be on display this Saturday at Mic Mac Mall, as part of Halifax Regional Municipality's celebration of National Public Works Week. In addition, there will be a number of static displays available for viewing by the public that same day.
Public Works and Transportation Services representatives will be on hand to demonstrate the equipment ( i.e. street sweepers, sewer pumpers, backhoes, dump and plow trucks, etc.) and to explain how the many municipal services are delivered to the public.
Crews will begin moving the heavy equipment and displays into place early Saturday morning and the public is invited to drop by and visit from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Children, accompanied by parents, and school groups are welcome.
