Largest Exhibition of Acadian Art Makes Stop in Halifax
(Monday, July 19/04)-- Mayor Kelly will officially open what is considered the largest travelling exhibition of Acadian art ever staged in Canada as it makes a stop in Halifax tomorrow as part of an Eastern Canadian tour.
The exhibition, celebrating the 400th anniversary of the Acadians in North America, drew artists from Isle de la Medeleine, Gaspe, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and even Louisiana.
The art works will be on display to the public in Halifax Hall, City Hall, from July 20 to August 26. Following the Halifax stopover, the exhibition moves on to Paris.
