Hemlock Ravine Park Re-Opens to Public on Friday

(Wednesday, July 21/04)-- Hemlock Ravine Park in the Prince's Lodge area will be re-opened again to the public on Friday, July 23.

HRM Parks and private sector crews have completed clean-up of the areas of the park damaged by Hurricane Juan last September.

Councillor Debbie Hum (District 16-Prince's Lodge/Clayton Park West) today commended the crews for their tremendous efforts in clearing away the debris and making the park safely accessible again for area residents and visitors.

"Hemlock Ravine Park is very near and dear to the hearts of residents in this area. I want to publicly thank them for their patience and understanding while the park was closed as a result of the severe storm damage. I think the high level of cooperation between HRM staff, the Friends of Hemlock Ravine Society, the private contractors and area residents was exemplary and I am pleased that we can all once again celebrate Hemlock Ravine Park being open to the public," the Councillor said.
