Repairs Force Lane Closures on Fairview Overpass
(Friday, August6/04)-- Due to the need for structural repairs, the centre portion of the Fairview Overpass will be partially closed off to traffic, beginning Monday (August 9).
Crews will begin erecting barricades on Sunday.
HRM Public Works and Transportation Services will be making repairs to the decking on the overpass itself, and therefore, the two lanes closest to the centre-lane (in both directions) will be closed to traffic on this portion of roadway.
As a result, traffic on this section of the Fairview Overpass will be reduced from three lanes in either direction, down to two lanes in either direction while the repairs are being made.
Motorists are advised to use caution and to adjust their speeds accordingly in the construction zone.
The work is expected to be completed within the next 7-10 days.
