First Lake Beach Closed to Swimmers
(Wednesday, August 11/2004)-- The HRM-supervised portion of Kinsmen's Beach, on First Lake in Sackville, is closed to the public due to water quality problems, effective immediately.
Regular testing at the beach showed high bacteria levels in the lake water. "No Swimming" signs have been posted and Beach Program staff will remain on duty during regular hours to advise the public of the closure.
HRM thanks the public for its cooperation and apologizes for any inconvenience.
