SummerFest Brings Community Together
(Friday August 20, 2004) - A recent initiative by STING and CANB saw over 600 residents, family and friends come together in the Gottingen Street area.
The Society for Tenant Initiatives Networking Group(STING) and Cogswell Agricola North Barrington(CANB) brought residents together with the goal of creating stronger voices and communities for children and families, as well as supporting the various tenant associations in their work.
Community feedback on the SummerFest event, held last Thursday, August 12th, was very positive and residents were happy to see such as great turn out from such a wide cross section of the community.
Councillor Dawn Sloane said, " It's great to see events like SummerFest be such a success. It's events like this that really bring residents and the community together".
SummerFest saw police, volunteers and groups from across HRM participating in the event.
