Candidates Reminded About Placement of Signs
(Wednesday, September 8/04)-- Candidates in the upcoming municipal election are reminded that campaign signs should be restricted to private property (with the permission of the property owner) and should not be installed within the street right-of-way.
Signs must not obstruct the view of traffic at intersections and driveways. Also, signs must not be installed on utility poles or street trees. All signs should be removed within one week following the election on October 16, 2004.
Adherence to these guidelines should preclude any problems; however, pleased be advised that any signs posing a safety hazard will be removed by HRM at the cost of the candidate.
