Temporary Comfort Centre Opened in Tantallon Area

(Tuesday, November 16/04)-- A temporary comfort centre will open at 11 a.m. today at the Sobey’s store at Hubley, to serve residents of the St. Margaret’s Bay areas who may be without power and heat as a result of the weekend storm.

The centre will be staffed by volunteers from the Canadian Red Cross.

Two other comfort centres-- one at the fire station in Highfield Park, Dartmouth, and the other at the Lakeside fire hall, have been closed.

A comfort centre is intended for brief visits by area residents who may want to stop by and seek warmth and enjoy a hot drink and a light snack. Such centres are not equipped for overnight accommodation.
