Media Advisory

(Friday, October 29, 2004)-- Mayor Peter Kelly, members of Halifax Regional Council will be officially sworn-in at a ceremony at the regular meeting of Council next Tuesday, to be held in Middle Musquodoboit.

There are a small number of reserved seats available for members of the media covering the session and a media staging area has been designated for photographers and video camera persons.

Doors to the theatre at Bicentennial Theatre will be open to the public, beginning at 4:00 pm. Members of the media are asked to be in place no later than 4:20 pm Your co-operation would be much appreciated.

Representatives of the RCMP and the official Honour Guards of both the Halifax Regional Police and the Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency Service will participate in the ceremony.

Master of Ceremonies for the event will be Mr. George McLellan, Chief Administrative Officer for Halifax Regional. Music will be provided by members of the Musquodoboit Rural High School Jazz Combo, Ms. Laura Watson, Ms. Melanie Humphry and Ms. Laura Humphry.

The Honourable Chief Judge Patrick Curran will officially swear-in Mayor Kelly and Members of Halifax Regional Council.
