Bedford Offering Two Routes for Terry Fox Run
(Thursday, September
16/04)-- Councillor Len Goucher announced today that Sunday’s
(September 19)Terry Fox Run in Bedford will offer two routes (1.7km
and 3.3km), both totally contained within the Bedford Waterfront
Development Lands.
Councillor Goucher, one of the organizers of the event, said participants
can run or walk, using either one, or both, courses for a 5K or
10K event. Water will be provided at three points along the course.
Following the Terry Fox Run, beginning around 2pm, a family fun
day will take place on the waterfront park. With sponsorship from
many local businesses, all proceeds will go to The Terry Fox Foundation.
There will be numerous children’’s activities including
a ‘‘bouncy castle’’, face painting and ‘‘Pockets,
The Magical Clown’’, and much more. For the adults,
a silent auction will be held with items such as golf games, HRM
arena ice time, dinners, graphic art and much more up for bid. All
proceeds to go to the Terry Fox Foundation.
