Municipal Equipment Display at Grand Parade

(Monday, May 9, 2005)-- Millions of dollars worth of municipal service equipment will be on display Wednesday, May 18, 2005 at Grand Parade, as part of Halifax Regional Municipality's celebration of “National Public Works Week”.

HRM Transportation & Public Works Services representatives will be on hand to demonstrate the equipment ( i.e. street sweepers, sewer pumpers, backhoes, dump and plow trucks, etc.) and to explain how the many municipal services are delivered to the public.

Crews will begin moving the heavy equipment and displays into place early Wednesday morning and the public is invited to drop by and visit from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Children,
accompanied by parents, and school groups are welcome.

When: Wednesday May 18, 2005 (Rain Date: Friday, May 20, 2005)
