Culture Café Workshops To be Held Throughout HRM
(Tuesday, June 14, 2005) - Residents of Halifax Regional Municipality will have opportunities this summer to voice their thoughts, ideas and comments about what they would like to see included in a new Cultural Plan to guide HRM’s cultural growth and development.
Councillor Sue Uteck, chair of HRM’s Cultural Advisory Committee, said today a series of community workshops, known as Cultural Cafes, will be held in various communities throughout the municipality.
“Culture is a key driver in economic and community development,” she said. “We are striving to develop a Cultural Plan that reflects the identities of our people and places across the region. Creativity is the engine of the new economy and HRM is committed to developing a world-class plan."
