Downtown Halifax Road Construction

(Thursday, June 16, 2005) - On or about Wednesday June 22, 2005, construction related to the Harbour Solutions - Source Separation Project will necessitate the closure of Granville Street from George to Duke Streets. Access to Granville Street will be available for local traffic only. Sidewalks will remain open for pedestrian traffic.

The duration of this project will be approximately 4 weeks.

The hours of work will be Monday to Friday from 7 A.M. to 6 P.M., with some weekend work as required.
Experienced traffic control personnel will ensure smooth traffic flow. On site personnel will also maintain communication with local residents and businesses to help minimize impacts.

This project will separate storm and sanitary sewers, which are currently combined, to provide environmental enhancements. In some areas, new water mains will be installed at the same time.
