Weekly Green Cart Collection Service Begins

(Tuesday, June 28, 2005) B HRM would like to advise residents in Halifax, Dartmouth, Bedford, Sackville, Beaver Bank, Kinsac, Cole Harbour, Westphal, Eastern Passage, Cow Bay, Beechville, Lakeside, Timberlea, Herring Cove, the Sambro Loop, Williamswood, Harrietsfield, Hammonds Plains area to Highway 103 and Fall River area that they are eligible for weekly green cart collection. This program will be in effect for the summer time period listed below only.

Upon completion of this summer service, collection returns to the regular 2-week green cart/regular refuse collection schedule. Residents should refer to their 2005/2006 Organics Green Cart and Regular Refuse Collection Schedule for regular collection information.

Over the summer, eligible residents can place their Green Cart out for collection weekly, even if it’s not full.

Residents are reminded to have their materials curbside before 7AM to ensure collection as times may vary.
