Downtown Halifax Road Construction

(Friday, July 15, 2005) - On or about Monday July 18, 2005, construction will necessitate the closure of the westside lane of Hollis Street for a period of 4 days. The Hollis St. lane closure will be at the intersection of Hollis and Salter Streets.

As part of related work, the closure of Salter Street from Hollis Street to Barrington Street will be required. The sidewalks on both sides of Salter Street will remain open at all times.

Additionally, Granville Street between Blowers and Salter Streets will be restricted to local traffic only.

The duration of this project will be approximately 4 weeks.
The hours of work will be Monday to Friday from 7 A.M. to 6 P.M., with some weekend work as required.
Experienced traffic control personnel will ensure smooth traffic flow. On site personnel will also maintain communication with local residents and businesses to help minimize impacts.

This project will separate storm and sanitary sewers, which are currently combined, to provide environmental enhancements. In some areas, new watermains will be installed at the same time.
We apologize for any inconvenience this necessary Harbour Solutions Project-Source Separation work may cause.
