Combined Natal Day Parade This Year
(Friday, July 29/05)-- This year marks the first time there will be a combined Natal Day Parade. Previously, Halifax and Dartmouth held separate Natal Day parades.
The Pepsi Natal Day Parade will take place on Monday, August 1, from 10 a.m. until noon. The parade route is 4.5 kilometres.
The parade will start in Halifax on Novalea Drive, at the intersection of Dartmouth Street; travel south along Gottingen Street; left to North Street; and across the Macdonald Bridge; then exit right on to Wyse Road; left on to Alderney Drive, to the corner of Alderney Drive and Ochterloney Street. It will then travel up Ochterloney Street, finishing at the corner of Ochterloney Street and Pine Street.
The reviewing dais will be on the toll booth side of the Angus L. Macdonald Bridge.
There is ample spectator viewing areas all along the parade route, including the deck of the Macdonald Bridge. Spectators are encouraged to come early in order to get a good place to see the parade.
