HRM to Demonstrate New SuperVac

(Thursday, September 1/05)-- Halifax Regional Municipality will be rolling out its newest weapon tomorrow in the war against litter in the downtown core.

HRM staff are trying out a new all-terrain litter vacuum, capable of picking up glass, metal, plastic, cardboard and other wet or dry waste. It can vacuum an area roughly the size of a football field in one-half hour.

There will be a demonstration of the new machine in action tomorrow morning, at 10 a.m., in Grand Parade.
