HRM Seeking Public Input on Canal Greenway Project
(Monday, September 12/05)--- HRM and consultants CBCL Limited and Ekistics will host a public workshop this week to seek public input into the Canal Greenway Project slated for downtown Dartmouth.
Public consultation is part of process to develop a master plan for the future of the former Starr Manufacturing lands, as well as the Trans-Canada Trail link from the Dartmouth waterfront to Sullivan’s Pond.
Consultants have been asked to prepare a plan for an urban heritage park that will interpret the many layers of natural and industrial history on the site, including the Shubenacadie Canal, the Starr Manufacturing Company, and the Sawmill River. The park will reflect local history, but also create an exciting focal point for current and future residents.
When: Thursday, September 15, 2005
Time: 7 PM
Where: St. James Church Hall, Portland Street and Prince Albert Road, Dartmouth
