HRM Seeks Public Input on Neighbourhood Recreation and Culture Needs within Districts 11, 12 and 14

(Tuesday, September 13, 2005) Halifax Regional Municipality’s Department of Recreation, Tourism and Culture will be hosting three public meetings, and a series of group discussions, in an effort to assess the recreation and culture needs and interests of residents living in parts of Districts 11, 12 and 14. This includes the neighbourhoods bounded by the following streets:

Bayers Road and Young Street
Young Street to Barrington Street
Barrington Street to Cornwallis Street
Cornwallis Street, North Street, Cunard Street, Robie Street
Robie Street to Quinpool Road
Quinpool Road to Connaught Avenue
Connaught Avenue to Bayers Road

The three public meetings will take place:

Wednesday, September 14, 2005
6:30pm to 8:00pm
George Dixon Recreation Centre
2501 Gottingen Street

Wednesday, September 21, 2005
6:30pm to 8:00pm
Isleville Centre
3460 Isleville Street

Wednesday, September 28, 2005
6:30pm to 8:00pm
Bloomfield Centre
2786 Agricola Street

Group discussions will be scheduled by request for community groups and organizations that are unable to attend one of the three scheduled meetings. The following Thursday mornings and afternoons in September are available: September 15, 22 and 29.
