PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

Public Input Needed for Improvements to Macdonald Bridge Bikeway Connection

(Tuesday, September 20, 2005) - Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) is seeking public input to improve the bikeway connection to the Halifax side of the Macdonald Bridge.

On Saturday, September 24th 2005 at 1:00 p.m. a public workshop will be held to gather feedback and suggestions on this bikeway improvement. To gather the best insight, cyclists are asked to gather at the Dartmouth bike path bridgehead for a ride over the bridge, followed by a discussion of the issues. The workshop meeting will be held following the bike ride from 2:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. at the George Dixon Centre, 2501 Gottingen Street.

All cyclists must wear proper helmets.

HRM has received funding to improve bicycle access to the Halifax side of the Macdonald Bridge. All interested members of the public are welcome to the whole event or just the workshop meeting. The whole workshop event will be held rain or shine.
