Downtown Halifax Road Construction

(Thursday, November 10, 2005) - Attention motorists, continued Harbour Solutions Project related construction on Upper Water St. will require the existing four lanes on Upper Water St. to be narrowed to a two lane two way street, near the Karlsen Shipping building, with traffic diverted to the current southbound lanes.

Left turns for vehicles traveling north on Upper Water Street passing Casino Nova Scotia are now available. Vehicle access has also been restored to motorists traveling north on Barrington to Upper Water St.
Motorists are also advised that Harbour Solutions - Source Separation work will necessitate the continued closure of Grafton St. between Prince and Carmichael Streets.

Access to Grafton St. will be for local traffic only. Sidewalks will remain open at all times.

The duration of construction is approximately 1.5 weeks.
The hours of work for both projects will be Monday to Friday from 7 A.M. to 6 P.M., with some weekend work as required.

Experienced traffic control personnel will ensure smooth traffic flow. On site personnel will also maintain communication with local residents and businesses to help minimize impacts.

We apologize for any inconvenience this necessary Harbour Solutions Project and Harbour Solutions-Source Separation work may cause.
