Downtown Halifax Road Construction

(Tuesday, November 22, 2005) - On or about Wednesday, November 23rd, Harbour Solutions-Source Separation work will necessitate the closure of Morris Street from Hollis to Lower Water Streets.

The expected duration of construction is two weeks. The hours of work will be Monday to Friday 7am to 5:30pm with weekends as required.

During construction Morris Street vehicle access will be for local traffic only. There will be no through traffic. Sidewalks on both sides of the street will remain open at all times. There will be no parking on the north side of Morris Street from Lower Water to Hollis Street for the duration of the project.

Experienced traffic control personnel will ensure smooth traffic flow. On site personnel will also maintain communication with local residents and businesses to help minimize impacts.

This project will separate storm and sanitary sewers, which are currently combined, to provide environmental enhancements.
