“Thank You” Celebration Planned for Those Who Helped

(Friday, December 16/05)-- Councillor Stephen Adams is organizing an informal “thank you” celebration next week for all of those who helped with the long campaign to bring municipal sewer and water services to the Herring Cove area.

“This project has been 40 years in the making, and to provide access to these services from the schools, businesses and private residences is a major accomplishment for the municipality and for the community, “ said Councillor Adams. “I think the time has come for us to get together and say thank you to all of those who helped.”

The celebration will be held at the William King Elementary School, in Herring Cove, on Tuesday, December 20, beginning at 10 a.m.

Municipal water is now available for approximately 120 properties on Herring Cove Road and St. Pauls Avenue. An additional 135 properties in Churchill Estates, that were previously serviced by a community well, are now connected to the central water supply.

When the approved sewer and water project is complete, approximately 240 properties will have access to central sewer and 360 properties to municipal water.
