Family Channel's Travelling Winter Carnival In HRM!
(Thursday, February 9/06)-- It may be cold outside, but there's no reason to stay indoors when the Family Channel's Snow Days event rolls through HRM this weekend.
Events will be held at the George Dixon Recreation Centre on Saturday, February 11th, and the Larry O’Connell Ice Rink on Sunday, February 12th.
Snow Days is a fun-filled, action-packed festival with many activities for everyone in the community to enjoy. And best of all, its absolutely FREE!
"This is a great event to kick-off the Pep Bro Divas (local residents’ group) dream of an outdoor skating rink in the Central Halifax area," says Councillor Dawn Sloane. "The Divas, along with aid and support from the community, 615 Air Cadets and HRM staff have been diligently working on the outdoor rink at the George Dixon Centre and now that the cold weather is upon us, it's time to celebrate! Snow Days will help promote healthy outdoor activities for all ages!"
Snow Days activities include the That's So Raven Racin' Station, skating tips and tricks at Ned's Declassified Skating Tips, tug o' war at The Proud Family Challenge, a fun and tricky obstacle course at the Kim Possible Impossible Obstacle Course, and the Naturally, Sadie silly sliders.
Visitors can also dance the cold away at the Disney's Little Einsteins Music Box by joining in the dance-offs, or they can warm up at the Zoey 101 Shiver Shelter, where hot chocolate is the only drink of choice.
