Port Wallace Public Meeting About Transit Service

(Friday, February 10/06)-- Councillor Andrew Younger (District 6-East Dartmouth/The Lakes) will host a public information session to discuss Metro Transit Route 55 and general transit service along the Waverley Road and to the Spider Lake area.

Discussion topics will include the Route 55 Port Wallace, scheduling and ridership. HRM’s Paul McDaniel, HRM’s new Metro Transit General Manager, and other staff, will be present to listen to comments and suggestions from the public.

“Route 55 tends to have low ridership, but high demands for increased service,” says Councillor Younger. “We’re interested in looking at opportunities to increase ridership and to improve service as a result.”
Some of the suggestions that have been mentioned already include looping the route through the Spider Lake Subdivision, and making the route a connector route ending at Mic Mac Mall , which could increase frequency of service.
