2006 HRM Capital District Urban Design Awards

(Monday, March 6, 2006) - The Halifax Regional Municipality is pleased to invite you to participate in the Capital District Urban Design Awards. The purpose of the Awards is to acknowledge and promote quality design initiatives created by property and business owners, architects, landscape architects, artists and designers which help to facilitate improvements in the Municipality’s urban core. For this, our third year, we are partnering with the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada, and this year’s awardees will be invited to submit their projects to the 2007 National Urban Design Awards in Ottawa.

The deadline for submissions is Thursday, March 30, 2006 at 4:00 PM. Application forms are available at the Capital District offices located on the second floor of the Halifax Ferry Terminal or by calling 490-5330. You may also visit www.halifax.ca/capitaldistrict for printable forms.

Submissions will be on display at the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia between April 3 and 27, and the awards ceremony will take place at that location on Thursday April 27 at 5:30 PM. For more information, please call 490-5330.
