Councillor Challenges Others to Participate in “Drop Zone”
(Wednesday, March 29/06)-- District 12 Councillor Dawn Sloane today issued a challenge to Mayor Peter Kelly and her Regional Council colleagues to rappel down 23 stories of a downtown high-rise in support of Easter Seals Nova Scotia.
Councillor Sloane, who participated in the “Drop Zone” fund-raising event last year, said “It was an amazing experience. More importantly, I feel that this is such a great cause and one of those cross off your life’s to-do list of experiences. I am challenging Mayor Kelly and Councillors to match or surpass the minimum pledge amount of $1,500.”
The Councillor added that she hoped many other residents of HRM would turn out and support the event, which will be held in June this year.
If you are up for the challenge of repelling down the 23 stories of 1801 Hollis and Duke Streets register today online at www.thedropzone.ca or contact Anthony Purcell at the Abilities Foundation of Nova Scotia by calling (902) 453-6000 ext. 229.
If you just don’t think you can do it, feel free to nominate someone from your office who is up for the challenge of a lifetime and help Easter Seals Nova Scotia reach its fund-raising goal.
