Halifax Public Gardens to Open May 1st
(Wednesday, April 26/06)-- Halifax Public Gardens is re-opening earlier this year for another season, beginning on Monday, May 1st.
A mild winter and early spring conditions led to the decision to re-open the Public Gardens a few weeks early. However, ongoing construction on a number of projects within the Gardens require that specific areas be off-limit to visitors until the work is completed.
The Main Gates, at the corner of Spring Garden Road and South Park Street, will be open on Monday, May 1st, only, from 8 am to 4 pm. Otherwise, all other four gates will be open daily from 8 am to dusk.
The restoration area of Horticultural Hall, the construction area of the new maintenance building area and the construction areas for the new washroom facilities will be fenced off to visitors. Due to the construction underway, there will be no washroom facilities available to the public.
HRM apologizes for any inconvenience to the public during this construction period.
