Municipal Equipment Display at Sackville Landing

(Friday, May 19, 2006)-- Millions of dollars worth of municipal service equipment will be on display Thursday, May 25, 2006 on the waterfront at Sackville Landing, as part of Halifax Regional Municipality's celebration of “National Public Works Week”.

HRM Transportation & Public Works Services representatives will be on hand to demonstrate the equipment ( i.e. street sweepers, sewer pumpers, backhoes, dump and plow trucks, etc.) and to explain how the many municipal services are delivered to the public.

Crews will begin moving the heavy equipment and displays into place early Thursday morning and the public is invited to drop by and visit from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Children,
accompanied by parents, and school groups are welcome.

When:   Thursday, May 25, 2006 (Rain Date: Friday, May 26, 2006)

Where:  On the waterfront at Sackville Landing

Time:     10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
