HRM Hosting Environmental Expo and Family Entertainment Event

(Thursday, June 8, 2006) - Join HRM and its many partners Saturday, June 10th from10:00am - 5:00pm at the Grand Parade for HRM’s Signature Environmental Event: Naturally Green - Celebrating the Environment!

This free event will feature a wide range of fun, interactive displays focusing on the environment, along with great entertainment.

Mayor Peter Kelly said, “HRM is proud of the environmental efforts of its citizens, businesses and partners. I hope everyone will drop down to this great event, get a hands on feel for what's happening in HRM, enjoy the great entertainment and displays, and of course have fun. We all have much to celebrate".

Learn more about your environment as you check out displays from: HRM, Environment Canada, The Department of Fisheries & Oceans, Nova Scotia Environment and Labour, Nova Scotia Department of Energy, Ecology Action Centre, RRFB Nova Scotia, Eco-Efficiency Centre, Clean Nova Scotia, Sierra Club, & Nova Scotia Power.

With helpful partners like HRM, Nova Scotia has become a leader in waste reduction.” said Carolyn Bolivar-Getson, Minister of Environment and Labour. “I wish everyone who attends the Naturally Green event in Halifax’s Grand Parade a happy Environment Week.”

The Official kick-off starts at 1:00pm with FREE family concerts featuring: Kidd Brothers Comedy, Chad Doucett from Canadian Idol, Squid Precision Drumming Band and John Gracie.
