Councillor Volunteering Time to Help Remove Graffiti
(Friday, June 9/06)-- District 16 Councillor Debbie Hum is volunteering her time today to work with HRM crews in removing graffiti from several locations hard hit by vandals in her district.
Councillor Hum says she is hoping to draw greater attention to the problem of graffiti in the community and how time-consuming and expensive it is try to combat the problem.
The Councillor encouraged residents to report any graffiti activity taking place in their neighbourhood to police, because graffiti is a criminal offence and should be dealt with severely.
Councillor Hum is meeting up with the HRM works crew this morning at 10 a.m. at the Sheffield Playground, off Lincoln Cross in Clayton Park.
She may be contacted on her cell at 476-7212
