Grand Opening of the Sackville Visitor Information Centre

(Friday, June 23, 2006) - HRM Councillors and staff celebrated the opening of the new Sackville Visitor Information Centre during a ribbon-cutting ceremony today. The centre, located at 7 Walker Avenue in the new transit terminal in Lower Sackville, is one of many throughout the Region that provides assistance in travel planning.

“The opening of the centre was achieved through partnerships with Metro Transit, through the use of their building, and Destination Southwest Nova Scotia for promotion of the Evangeline Trail,” explains HRM District 20 Councillor Bob Harvey. “We’re pleased to be able to offer another location where visitors, as well as residents, can access the information they need.”

The Visitor Information Centre, open daily, employs three trained travel counsellors and will remain open until the middle of October.
