Major Sewer Repairs in South End Halifax May Cause Traffic Delays
(Friday, July 7/06)-- Motorists are advised to expect traffic delays Monday on Inglis Street in Halifax, between Robie and Wellington Streets, due to major sewer construction.
Weather permitting, construction will begin at 9:00 am Monday (July 10th) and work will continue until the project is completed. It is anticipated the installation may take up to 36 hours to complete, and construction may have to continue throughout the night and into the following day. The sewer is a large diameter main that is subjected to high flows, especially during rain.
All property owners in the area will be advised of the construction 48-hours in advance of the construction start, as required under the Noise By-Law.
During this repair, traffic will be reduced to one- lane , stop- and- go, on Inglis Street, between Robie and Wellington Streets. Metro Transit Service will be maintained.
Motorists are advised to exercise extreme caution in the construction zone, and if possible, to seek an alternate travel route during that period.
HRM apologizes for any inconvenience.
