Portion of Cole Harbour Road Temporarily Closed This Weekend

(Wednesday, July 26/06)-- Motorists are advised that a portion of the Cole Harbour Road (Highway #207) will be temporarily closed to traffic this weekend to permit replacement of a culvert, near the Ross Road.

The contractor, W. Eric Whebby Ltd, placed electronic sign boards on Cole Harbour Rd last week, near Bissett Road and near Ross Road, giving motorists advanced warning of the pending temporary closure.

The closure of the Cole Harbour Road (Highway #207), west of the Old Lawrencetown Road, near Ross Road, will take effect Friday, July 28, at 6:00 pm until Monday, July 31, at 7:00 am . An 1,800 mm diameter culvert will be installed across the highway, just west of Ross Road.

During the closure , traffic will be detoured from the Cole Harbour Road (Highway #207) #207 via Forest Hills Parkway, Main Street and Ross Road. Those travelling to and from the Lawrencetown area may choose to use the Mineville Road ( via Hwy #107 Exit 18 ) as an alternative route.

Following the closure, construction will continue at the culvert crossing for up to 10 weeks. During this time, two- way traffic will be maintained during peak hours. However, at times between the hours of 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, there will be one- lane, stop- and- go traffic.

Motorists are advised to use extreme caution in the construction zone, and if possible, to seek an alternate travel route during the construction period.

HRM apologizes for any inconvenience.
