Fire Chiefs from Across Canada attend Conference in Halifax

(Friday, August 11, 2006) - Fire Rescue Canada - 2006, hosted by Halifax Regional Fire & Emergency and the Canadian Association of Fire Chiefs is being held August 13-16, 2006 at the Halifax Marriott Hotel. The 98th annual training and educational symposium will see over 300 chief fire officers at the 4 day conference.

Chief Director Michael Eddy, President of the CAFC is honored to host the most valuable conference for those who serve in Canada’s most trusted profession.

The theme for Fire Rescue Canada -2006 is “Bridging Communities” and the main focus is recognizing the importance of diversity and inclusiveness as a standard for departments.

The last time the conference was held in Halifax was 1999.

Michael Eddy said that “he extends his heartfelt thanks to all fire service members who play a large part in protecting our communities and looks forward to a successful conference.
