One of Nova Scotia’s Oldest County Exhibitions Offers Something for Everyone

(Monday, August 14/06)-- One of the oldest county exhibitions in Nova Scotia and the only agricultural exhibition still operating in Halifax Regional Municipality kicks off again this week.

Located in Middle Musquodoboit, the Halifax County Exhibition is just 45 minutes from metro, in the heart of the beautiful Musquodoboit Valley. It features livestock and agricultural exhibits, craft and gardening displays, horse pull, ox pull, truck pull, four- wheeler pull/obstacle course, cattle and horse competitions, dog agility performances, hay toss/hay rolling events, beer garden, food concessions, and the Halifax County Pageant Queen and Little Miss contests.

Live entertainment is scheduled throughout each day, from Wednesday, August 16 to Saturday, August 19. Opening Day (Wednesday) offers free admission for children and a parade will be held, beginning at 1:00 pm. Lots of fun and excitement for everyone. Don’t miss it!

District 1 Councillor Steve Streatch said “The Halifax County Ex is not only a great opportunity for rural neighbours to get together each year in a friendly, exciting surrounding, but it also offers an opportunity for urban residents to come along and get a good look at our wonderful way of life in the rural communities of HRM.”
