Advance Poll Today in District 21 (Bedford) Byelection for Councillor

(Tuesday, August 15/06)-- Entering the final week leading up to the August 19 election day for Councillor in District 21 (Bedford), eligible voters planning to be out of town for the weekend may want to take advantage of a second Advance Poll to be held today.

The Advance Poll will take place at the Basinview Drive Community School, 273 Basinview Drive, Bedford, from 12 noon to 8 p.m. today. (The first Advance Poll was held at the school this Saturday past.)

Polls open on election day this Saturday (August 19) at 8 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. Once again, polling will be held at the Basinview Drive Community School.

The Municipal Clerk’s Election Office will make return available to the media and the public on the HRM website www.halifax.ca, beginning at about 8 p.m. on Saturday.

Official results will be declared on Tuesday, August 22, 2006, no later than 4 p.m.
