Cunard Beach Re-Opens to Swimmers
(Wednesday. August 16/06) - Cunard Beach, at Williams Lake, will re-open to swimmers again tomorrow. The beach was closed Friday, Aug. 11 due to water quality problems.
Regular testing performed by the Nova Scotia Department of the Environment at HRM’s supervised beaches showed high bacteria levels in the water at Cunard Beach. “No Swimming” signs were posted and Beach Program staff remained on duty during regular hours to advise the public of the closure.
HRM thanks the public for its cooperation and apologizes for any inconvenience.
For further information on HRM Beach conditions, the public can call 490-5458.
