Portion of Portland Street to be Temporarily Closed to Traffic

(Wednesday, August 30/06)-- Motorists are advised that a portion of Portland Street, from Dundas Street to Victoria Road, will be closed to vehicular traffic for a two week period soon to enable sewer repairs.

The exact timing of the two-week period the street will be temporary closed to traffic will be announced after preliminary work is completed.

Total project construction includes new concrete paver/sidewalk, isolated concrete curb and gutter, asphalt renewal, installation of granite curb, sewer replacement, sewer spot repairs and installation of new gas main at Dundas Street.

The project is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, September 5 and be completed by mid-November.

Motorists are advised to use extreme caution when travelling in the construction zone, and if possible, to use an alternate travel route during this period.
